Fundamentals Notes June 1, 2009 While our Fundamentals Programs have continued to evolve over the last 10 years, our core mission remains the same. We serve families by helping young children increase brain development through movement in a fun, interactive, and creative environment. Our Tumble Bear Island Resort (T.B.I.R) preschool motor development program is specifically designed to focus on eight areas of your child’s development. I believe these areas or systems ultimately lead to developing the whole child – an imaginative, persistent, social, problem solver. Each week we focus on one of the systems: Attention, memory, language, spatial, sequential, motor development, problem solving, and social thinking. We do all this through movement. Story time is also a trademark within the T.B.I.R. Program. I believe this is key in developing a community at the beginning of class and a great way to get everyone to build and use their language and increase attention and focus. Ken
